July Class - Reupholester a (dumped) Chair!

Ok - it's been a long time coming, so get ready - we're meeting Sunday, July 26th , at the Jerks house (check in with me re: address)...We'll be painting and reupholstering a found chair in their fabulous backyard. Time has been changed!! Now, from 12 until 2pm... So that we can harass cutie patootie Annie during her 1 hour guest bar tending gig...head over with us to Thieves after creating a new chair...

What to Bring:

- 1 ghetto chair in need of new everything
- batting
- Spray paint...or paint and a brush
- Fabric (heavy weight fabric: linen, upholstery, denim, etc. and enough and enough to cover seat with 3 inches over each edge)*

Also: Snacks...beer...well-behaved pooches...girls in bikinis...Don't forget show & tell, if you've made something bomb-a$$, of course you need to show that sh*t off.

Hey Makers-of-Stuff!

So, our first craft/drinking/chillin' is this Sunday! I'm sure most of you have way more self-discipline than me, this is so Dolores Beach weather and meanwhile, I still have a giant of pile of unfinished Xmas gifts to-do...(so embarrassing)

Here's what I'm thinkin' - 2 fabulous crafters will be showing us how to make scarves out of recycled stuff (a t-shirt-turned-to-scarf with no sewing and a sweatshirt-turned-to-scarf with minimal sewing)...Mainly we'll be figuring out what peeps want to do with a crafting group, gettin' to know each other and bragging about recent projects.

So - what to BRING:
* an old t-shirt and/or an old sweatshirt
* Basic Sewing tools (scissors, needle, thread)
* something to share (chocolate...wine...beer...green olives)
* Your most recent/most favorite craft project - I LOVE show and tell. Bring it on...

Hey Peeps!

So, the weather sucks, the bar is draining my wallet and I have more craft projects than I know what to do with - Let's get this Group going already!

Let's Meet: How does the last Sunday of the month sound? 4pm-6pm?

We were thinking of our first project being a scarf...Ms. Jerk has a great idea for recycling t-shirts into a scarf and I have a super duper easy pattern for a sewn scarf. The logistics (materials, sewing machines, etc.) still need to be worked out, but more importantly, this meeting will help us figure out what we want to do, learn or how to go forward with our crafting aspirations.

So if you know anyone crafty, who has a mad skill (ex: recreating pop art with push-pins) or just seems like that sewing-macarme-canning resourceful-type, please feel free to invite!

ps...our house is dog friendly (assuming your dog is house/dog friendly!)

so, i'm lagging - i know.

but i want to come up with a couple easy-peesy ideas. and work out dates and the way we pick the next couple of projects.

maybe we should meet in January? everyone's always traveling in December.
